“Is the yellow battery connector supposed to stick out the bottom after inserting into slot? If sticks out beyond the feet. It's too far so it doesn't sit flat.”

Turns out this little yellow connector was very difficult to push in. It felt like I was going to break it. I decided to see what happened if I pushed it further. I thought I'd break it, but it actually sank just enough to line up with the feet. So, crisis averted. Not a very intuitive way to set this up, but at least I got it working.
