• Recently, "pure" has been dropped in favor of just "sine wave." But, yes, the BGM1500's are sine wave. Previous tech will be referred to as stepped, simulated or saw tooth sine wave depending on the design. A pure sine wave is the purview of a slip-ring armature and coil swinging through a magnetic field.
