• You download and install PowerChute Personal Edition from APC's website. You can set it up to gracefully shut the machine down.

• APC has their PowerChute software for download on their webpage which provides information on current power status, as well as allowed setting certain parameters for when power goes out, e.g. how long the USP should provide power. Go on their website and look for the software to research it's capabilities.
