I believe this one is the 7th generation. I wish they gave the specs. 7th gen allows connection to flash drive and is more like computer..check Apple website.

Latest model means that it’s a 7th generation Ipad for 2019.

When I bought this for Christmas, “latest model” means 7th generation and this is what I got.

I researched and do not need further replies. Thanks to those that did reply. This their newest option, but not their best option. There are other options with better specifications.

The latest generation for the ipad mini is gen 5. It has either 64 GB or 256 GB and has a super fast processor. I think the one sold at Best Buy is the Gen 4.
