You don't need any special equipment. Just plug your old ipad into your pc and connect to itunes then backup it up on itunes and unplug. Then connect your new ipad to itunes and restore your ipad (at this point your new ipad should be plugged in and your old one unplugged). This is what I did to transfer my data from my ipad 3 to this one. I hope this helps.
