WiFi only means iPad can access internet only in WiFi area.

Other options would be adding it to your cellular data plan so it would have a network to use like your cell phone does. Mine is WiFi only because I can download books, movies, shows, etc. to it that I can still access off WiFi since they’re downloaded.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It means you have to use a wifi network in order to access the Internet, The other option would be using a mobile carriers Internet for a monthly fee. I use Xfinity Hot spots when I'm in the City which works great.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.This particular iPad does not have cellular service capabilities The only way to connect to the internet is through WiFi. Other models have both cellular capabilities and WiFi so you can connect using either.
