No...I’ve had ones my kids used that were much older and they never did that. We always have a case protecting them.

This will cause the top screen to begin to have a visible gap between itself and the frame. There is really no economically viable way to fix this other than purchasing a new model. This would be considered damage by user and not covered by warranty,
