Do I have to have cellular? null

Cellular is optional (only on the models with Cellular included). If you want the option to take your iPad everywhere and use it online (away from wifi) then you will need a model that supports Cellular and you will need a monthly plan with a service provider. If you plan to just use it at home, or in places that have wifi, then you don't need the Cellular model.

If you’re someplace where there is no Wi-Fi, iPad with Wi-Fi + Cellular models let you stay connected to fast cellular data networks practically anywhere you go. Check with your carrier for compatibility and plan availability.
