I couldn’t make my gen1 apple pencil i bought in april, connect, nor could i find a lightning to usbc pencil adapter to pair it. After a couple days, I gave up and ordered the Targus anti microbial stylus and its been better than my apple pencil was. If you have to have matching electronics, apple pencil gen2!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The apple pencil 1 will work for this model. However, I had to use the C end adapter and NOT the lightening to lightening adapter provided with the pencil. I simply plugged in a C to the ipad, and then using the C adapter provided with the pencil, I plugged the end of the C and the apple pencil into the other end of the C adapter and it paired. If you go online, articles state to use the lightening to lightening adapter...that didn't pair for me. Hope this helps and saves you the headaches it gave me!

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. For the 10.9-inch iPad (10th Generation), you can use the **Apple Pencil (1st Generation)**. The 2nd Generation Apple Pencil is not compatible with this model of iPad. Make sure to check the compatibility details before purchasing to ensure proper functionality.
