No it does not, other than the glass that it's made of... it does protect it.

No. If you wish for an optional screen protector, you will need to buy one. I replaced an iPad air two with this device and I never had a screen scratching issue using the smart folio to protect the screen. (I do not feel optional screen protection is required as long as you have a smart folio or similar device to protect the screen when iPad is not in use)
