Yes but note that all of the apps have limitations on the ipad. For example: excel is very limited compared to the desktop version.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes it is. It will allow you to read the various types of Microsoft documents. If you wish to work on an MS doc, you will notice a small box with an up arrow in the upper right hand corner of the iPad. Tap on it and you'll see various actions that can be performed. For instance, if you're working on an MS Word doc, you'll be able to add this document to Pages, Apple's equivalent of Word. Or if Excel to Numbers, Or if PDF to Keynote. Then you can edit the document as you wish, by taping EDIT in the upper right hand corner of the iPad. Once done with editing, save your work. You will notice a small circle with three dots in it next to where you saw EDIT. Tap on the circle and you will see a menu. Tap "Export" and among other things, you'll see "Word". Select that option and your document will be converted to back to Word. Hope this helps.
