• With an internet connection and an Apple ID, you can make and receive calls in the FaceTime app (first sign in with your Apple ID, or create an Apple ID, if you don’t have one).

• You can make and receive calls with the LTE version of the iPad. However, you can also make and receive calls with the wifi version by turning on wifi calling in settings. Obviously for the latter, you will need to be connected to wifi.
