i HAVE NO IDEA IF ITUNE CARDS HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH PHONES MUCH LESS IF IT UPGRADE A PHONE.

You need the Apple App Store on your phone to upgrade the operating system in your phone, but upgrading the operating system in an Iphone is free. This Apple Itunes card pays for games, songs, books, movies, and much more which you can download from the App Store to your phone after you enter the card information in your account.

No, iTunes cards are used for apps and in-app purchases. Apple may take them as upgrade payment but I'm not aware that they do.
