no. This cable has a USB-C male connector at both sides. You would need a USB-C to USB-A cable.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.This is a USB-C charger, on both sides. Most airports and planes do not have USB-C. It's a smaller head than your standard USB. Better bring the wall connector and find an actual outlet. I'm not sure if this works for the Air. I have a Pro.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No, this is a USB type C cord, this doesn’t have a USB connection port. The only way to charge your laptop would be with a USB type C wall adapter, even if you could connect it to a regular USB port 5V would never charge your MacBook Air.

I do not know if they make a USB-A to USB-C dongle which would work to connect, but the power draw would likely be greatly than a normal USB plug could support (power provided varies, but normally set to level for a phone not a laptop).
