It might but I would recommend taking your laptop to the store with you and have the techs look at it. This way you know you are getting the correct charger.

I asked from Apple store for use it on my book Pro 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 and they told me you can charge your laptop faster with this adaptor. So yes it works as I am using for almost 2 month.
