This is not going to help you with cell signal strength. If you are talking about wi-fi signal strength it will help with that. if you are using an apple wi-fi router and want to use this as an "extender" to repeat the signal it can do that. As for as it being better than what you're already using to broadcast wi-fi I don't know how that would compare unless you brought it home and tried it.
