“So is the tag. Detectable by all the iPhones it uses to give its location or only the person it belongs to ?”

• It is detectable by any device with “Find My” turned on. But, they can’t see it’s “Tom’s keys”. It just is detectable and sends the location of your item to your device where you marked it as lost.

• It doesn’t have to be in range of your iPhone, so long as it is in range of any iPhone on the cellular network.
