“Can this be used on pets. mine are already chipped but that has to be physically scanned. can this be used in helping find a lost or stolen pet (i would guess if stolen the person would discard it anyway, but that would be an area to start looking)”

Hi, I dont have one yet obv, but this is a great idea! I would imagine you could put it on their collar or something the pet may be wearing!

It has brought us much peace of mind after one of our babies got out and we never found him. Sometimes the youngest hides in the basement and sleeps. He doesn’t come when called but we can locate his exact position in the house.

This uses a lituium button type battery, that is swallowed, can be lethal by eating a hole througfh the esophagus or other gastrointestinal tract organs).

I haven’t looked yet, but I would imagine by now, someone has made a dog collar that can house/hold an AirTag and/or Tile. If not, I bet it’s coming soon. I mean you could always hang it where their tags go, but I could see that be a problem with smaller breeds. I also have a feeling that AirTag’s are going to also hurt the pet GPS tracking industry. All of their products are big, bulky, and always require a subscription. I wonder if any of those companies even saw this coming, or thought to view this as something that could take away sales. I really think that once people understand how they work, and how they are different from Tile, enough people have the same idea as you, and they spread the word, pet owners (and the pet industry itself) is going to take notice. I have two dachshunds, and I put one of my Airtags on the more active one, just to see how it “hung”. I’m not sure it bothered her, but it was just a little too big for me. It also made a lot of noise hitting against her rabies tag. If I can’t find any collars that might have a pocket or attachment system when I look after this reply, I will try to rig up something myself. If no one catches on to this idea, then either call or write to a collar manufacturer, or make them yourself and start selling them, lol. I do think though, that even if you use something like this, it shouldn’t be used in the place of a micro-chip. I volunteered for pet rescue organizations and I used to foster dogs and with how overburdened all of the rescues and animal shelter’s were (and still are), animals with no chip always were put in line to be euthanized before those with a chip — even if the owners of the chipped pets could not be tracked down.

You can get silicon glow in the dark covers that go on the AirTag (Amazon) that can be slipped on a thin breakaway collar for a cat and I’m sure they make something similar for a dog. Hope this helps.
