“Are these the earbuds made for the iPhone models 7 and above? Or are these the models for the older generation? I’m looking for the earbuds made for the higher generation.”

Yes, these were made for the 7 or higher. They still be used for lower model iPhones, but were made specifically for the models without the headphone jack.
