• I would say as a single speaker probably comparable...but if you drop the money and get a pair of them it's really good. Also the portability you get with the flips are a plus...HomePod mini is for the home lol.

• I haven’t had the jbp flip-5, but I can say that the quality of sound is great. You can really hear the acoustics and it has a good base on it. At max volume the base vibrated my table.

• Arguably better bass and has a very room filling sound. I had a JBL flip 4 and I would say the Homepod Mini sounds better and louder as a overall speaker.
