• What it means it is the most recent model in the iPad series. The next higher level of iPads are the iPad Pro series. I have the model referenced in the question above and I am perfectly happy with it. Use it mostly for browsing and checking emails. The Pro model series is more for those who want higher level of graphics and use of iPen for sketching, etc. although the model I have is also supposed to be able to facilitate sketching, etc., maybe not to the level of Pro series.
