• It is a 9.7 in screen. Do not know about exchanging the free music for another gift. I just chose to not take music.

• For the 6th Gen the screen on mine is 9.7....I doubt they will offer you a different gift. I turned down the music and no other gift was offered. I think they actually use that as a sales ploy to get you interested in a product that you'd later need to pay for......not as an actual gift.
