• No, cellular cannot be added to a WiFi only tablet.

• You need the version that states cellular. The WiFi can not be added to a cellular plan. Hence WiFi only. I had the same question when I was searching to purchase one recently and opted for the one with cellular included to add to my plan with AT&T
