I’m not a BBuy expert but my experience was use my phone for a few days on the carrier’s network (Tmo) and then contacted Tmo customer service to request phone unlock. Tmo obliged. Just be prepared to tell carrier reason for your unlock request is international travel. And also get your order confirmation (proof of purchase) ready, just in case
