• Unfortunately no, you must have the sim provided from your carrier. In your case straight talk wireless

• Yes you can! All you have to do is talk to verizon if your plan isnt cancelled and make sure you sign up for straight talk online. Maybe go into your local verizon store to have them be able to cancel your line with them, but also ask to keep your number for your next carrier.
