“Is there an option for no carrier. If not does the carrier work in Vietnam?”

• no carrier option must purchase thru Apple direct, for the unlock aspect. Check each carrier for their International plans

• If you want no carrier and want the phone unlocked you'll have to buy it from the apple store, and AT&T works in Vietnam. You might need a special type of plan.
