If you’re staying with your same carrier and number with getting rid of older phone, then yes. It will be unlocked at first power up and data sync. Bought mine outright and gave it to wife as gift/replacement for her older one. She turned it on, it populated on my bill as new device replacing her old one. We synced it and all was good to go.
