But if you are buying from an individual seller make sure the phone has been reset (it should be asking for language setting, etc, when you power it on) and verify it is unlocked with a carrier. Call the carrier, if there is money owed on the phone you will be stuck with a phone you can’t activate or paying off the owed amount. Be sure to check. It is usually better to just buy from a reputable business- Best Buy, Verizon, etc. plus there are carrier deals that give you a monthly credit making the phone much cheaper than a cash price.
