• Charge it until it says "100%" on the battery icon on the top right corner of your screen. You may have to change your settings for this (Settings> General > Usage > Battery Percentage > ON ) It usually will take 2-3 hours to go from about 5% to 100%.

• After the inital charge the battery has been holding a charge for 2-3 days.

• Seeing as how you are a senior, depending on your age you may well died before the battery does.
