Do I have to trade in my current phone? null

My purchase did not require the old phone as a trade in. I kept mine.

If you’d like to get some money back for your phone then you can trade it in otherwise you would just make an out right purchase and pay in installments but all this depends upon your service and if you are Locked into your old phone for a certain amount of time and are available for a new purchase

Depends on your plan - You don’t have to unless your plan says you have to. If you don’t have to, but choose to, they’ll usually pay you.

With best Buy, no you do not. Last time I looked, Verizon required you to trade in your old phone. Things are always changing so best to double check on Best Buy and your provider to see what they currently offer.
