Please ask a Best Buy customer service representative. When I purchased my phone, I had an urgent need that it be activated immediately. However, I was told that I could wait and activate it at home. I’m not sure how long I could have waited before activating it. Mine was activated by the Geek Squad before I left the store. The Best Buy staff members were ALL wonderful!
