Yes... I purchased as a gift also. They can activate the phone immediately upon receipt of it or take it to any Verizon or Best Buy to activate it!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.If you buy the phone in a Best Buy the person gifted can go to either Verizon or Best Buy for activation. I would recommend that they go to Best Buy for activation as Verizon will not address any problems with the phone and will direct you to Best Buy. Plus my experience has been that Best Buy's customer service is very good! Be sure to send a receipt or gift receipt with the phone to prove ownership. Artman.
