Should work in Europe and other countries with GSM networks. Not positive about iPhone, but I did this very thing with an unlocked Verizon Android phone -- switched a T-Mobile SIM card for the Verizon SIM card and then used the phone in Europe on my T-Mobile plan. Also worked swapping for a UK carrier SIM card while I was in the UK. I get a screen message on start-up that the phone has a "non-Verizon SIM card," but then it proceeds to work fine. Since reviewers have indicated that an advantage of this iPhone is that it works on both CDMA (Verizon) and GSM networks, it seems that it should work with iPhone too.
