• You can pay it off at any time. The Best Buy discount is written as a down payment. But if sprint is giving you additional credits then you would lose those.

• Yes you can pay off early--I did. Dont know about being locked with Sprint. I do know there is a 50 day period where they cannot unlock the phone.
