No... as you are the person responsible to pay the amount of credit utilized. What you do with your phone is up to you.

If you lose the phone you are covered, if the phone is stolen, it’s covered or if it’s broken. If you don’t get insurance and any one those things happen you still have to pay the phone off and for a new one out of pocket. So for about two years you might pay $31. Plus $13. Insurance every month plus tax and cost of your plan.
