• This is a Genuine Apple Device and will work with all newer Iphone and IPad devices. The older iPhones and iPad's may have issues due to their older software.

• Good question, I just tried it with my iPhone XR and it works the same way as it does with the iPad Air. The picture not as clear, but when your cable goes out as much as ours does here in Puerto Rico, it’s better then nothing.
