• I have used for Mackie over ear semi pro reference buds and for connection to Klipsh surround audio works fine

• Hi I am writing this as I use my Over ear Sennheiser 595, you can use similar type headphones, see photo. There is one concern, if you do not have reasonable efficient headphones, you will need a preamp for headphones. The sound is very good and more than enough power, slightly light in the bass, but for “everyday” it is more than fine. I tested 4 different headphone types on iPhone 10, all with good results, but have not evaluated battery life.
