No it will not work with MacOS Catalina. It will only work with MacOS Ventura and onwards.

I believe you will have to install Rosetta 2 on your own. For your information; Apple M2 is capable of running code compiled for the x86_64 instruction set using a translation mechanism called Rosetta 2 Your Mac with Catalina 10.15.7 uses the x86_64 instruction set. So you should be good.
