A:AnswerYes! Even though 1.2 GHz seems slow this computer's performance is superb. Not only do I run lots of programs at once but I do video editing on Adobe Premiere Pro without a problem. The 1.2 GHz allows the computer to run fanless which is amazing.
A:AnswerDefinitely faster but not noticeable; unless you have both models next to you. And the keyboard this year is more raised; which I prefer. Last year model feels like typing on a pizza box.
A:AnswerI am able to use this great MacBook for writing papers, reading my emails, surfing the web and photo editing. I definitely think that the M3 is quicker than its predecessor. There has been no lag and you can multitask easily. If you decide to buy it from Best Buy there are student discounts available and you should ask them to price match for you, I saved $100. This MacBook is also portable enough to carry anywhere. Enjoy!
A:AnswerI have both the latest MacBook 12 and also the latest Pro. I would have to say that if typing is the number 1 feature, the keyboard on the pro is just spaced ever-so-slightly further apart and offers a more error-free typing experience for ME. You have to go into a store and just type on them to get a good feel. Having said that, I LOVE the fact that the so-much-smaller-and-lighter 12 is INCREDIBLY easy to carry around EVERYWHERE and GETS THE JOB DONE. Both have the Retina display which, for anyone whose eyes get fatigued by staring at computer screens (you said you were writing your thesis, right???) then make sure you get the retina screen. Otherwise the AIR Is a fantastic option if you can live without the retina screen but the keyboard on the pro still rocks. My quasi-daughter-in-law is a contract editor and hits the deadlines with her MacBook 12.
Hope that helps.
A:AnswerNo you have to buy that separate for Mac. Or if you are a college student they typically are able to download the programs from their college for free with their student ID.
A:AnswerYes! The current student discount is $150. You first need to sign up as a student, wait for your email with all available student offers, and then use your coupon code. Discount does work off sale prices but does not work on open box pricing.
