So either you have a monitor that works with USB C (for example I use an ASUS ZenScreen portable monitor), or you'll need to buy an adaptor for your monitor of choice. For headphones, my MacBook Air has a mini phone jack as well as the USB C connections. Note: for expansion purposes the MacBook Air only has 2 USB ports, so it is easily maxed out. Also it does not have an SD Card slot like older models. You can plug in a port expander to handle that if needed. Word on Mac is a little different than Word on PC, but I use both. And OneDrive for saving files and sharing them with colleagues works pretty well. The thing that is challenging with Word on the Mac is that the text is extremely tiny, so get friendly with the Zoom control right away. If you're used to the ribbon, you'll find that many commands are back in the old style File Edit menu, so you'll want to learn where they are if you do anything more than type a document. HTH
