• A:Answer Absolutely it is! Apple is using a different supplier for the 256GB SSD and that drive is much slower so it drags down overall system performance. You’ll likely have the computer for many years so having the extra speed will really make a difference. And you may really appreciate having the extra storage capacity in the future too!

• A:Answer 16GB RAM is a custom option available through Apple. The off the shelf versions are only available in 8GB. This could change, but at this time the M2’s are only available in the 2 option 1.) 256GB w/ 8GB and 8GBGPU and 2.) 512GB w/ 10GB GPU.

• A:Answer It would really depend on what the use-case is - if you are going to school for production-heavy workloads, such as film production or music production, this will be a good start - the primary limitation will end up being the number of screens you can connect (currently, you can only connect one additional display natively although there are some work-around solutions online) If you are not into deeply intense AI programming or professional level production work, this is a great machine. If you need more - a pro level device (MacBook Pro or even a Mac Studio) may be what you want to look into.

• A:Answer I don’t run music software so I can’t swear that you won’t have problems. What I will tell you is what will cause lag. 1. Remember that lag will be caused by the slowest piece in the chain. You have much of that beat with your computer. 2. 8 Gb ram should be enough for most music. 3. How big your storage is, isn’t what is important. What is most important is AVAILABLE space. Second most important part for your situation is “contiguous” storage. This is not as important with SSD as with a HDD. But, even nano seconds add up. 4. Before you start working I recommend not having any other APPS opened and restarting. This will clear all of the memory so you have the largest block of available memory. If you start getting lag you will need to do some investigating. 1. Run Activity Monitor it should be in the Utilities folder inside your Applications folder. There are lots of good tutorials on this APP. 1a. Activity Monitor Will be able to tell if your memory is full or your storage or if you have a background APP running. That should be enough information to help you get started.

• A:Answer It comes with the standard 35w charger. The fast charger is available as a separate accessory you can buy. Alternatively, if you order directly from Apple's website, you can choose which power adapter you would like bundled with the MacBook Air. On Apple's website, you can also choose configurations with more RAM, and/or more storage space. Keep in mind however, that choosing more RAM, storage, or the higher powered fast charger, will increase the cost.

• A:Answer No, the MacBook airs don’t have fans to keep them so thin, the M1 version was able to keep full workload without needing them and over heating, the M2 on the other hand will thermal throttle but with a very heavy workload about 5-10 min in. I would suggest the review by MKBHD on YouTube for more information.
