• It depends on the OS you are running. I'm thinking the 2015 will only go to 10.15.x. Google Chrome will work on 10.15 for now. However, at some point, you will need to upgrade. Honestly, I would install Google OS Flex and turn it into a power Chromebook if all you are worried about is Google products. Flex is free to download and install.

• yes - any computer that runs a web browser will support gmail.
