I don’t run music software so I can’t swear that you won’t have problems. What I will tell you is what will cause lag. 1. Remember that lag will be caused by the slowest piece in the chain. You have much of that beat with your computer. 2. 8 Gb ram should be enough for most music. 3. How big your storage is, isn’t what is important. What is most important is AVAILABLE space. Second most important part for your situation is “contiguous” storage. This is not as important with SSD as with a HDD. But, even nano seconds add up. 4. Before you start working I recommend not having any other APPS opened and restarting. This will clear all of the memory so you have the largest block of available memory. If you start getting lag you will need to do some investigating. 1. Run Activity Monitor it should be in the Utilities folder inside your Applications folder. There are lots of good tutorials on this APP. 1a. Activity Monitor Will be able to tell if your memory is full or your storage or if you have a background APP running. That should be enough information to help you get started.
