it is of course difficult to answer your question with surety without knowing your typical usage...but the only thing I'd cite as being a potential drawback is if you are using the machine for power duty that would need the quad core processors. I run music production software, java development environments, stock trading apps, etc, and I haven't had a problem. For a machine loaded with a 512G ssd drive and 16gig of memory, this was a good deal. I do lament that Apple in its divine wisdom decided to eliminate all the external connection jacks, leaving you to buy a separate breakout device...
