Check out all the videos about thermals with the M2 MacBook Air on YouTube... it appears they either didn't put a good heatsink in or didn't include one at all. The chip throttles after a few minutes of a hard load and tops out around 105 degrees Celsius. I agree, you get a new design for "cheaper" with the M2 MacBook Air, but the inclusion of a fan with the M2 MacBook Pro makes it a far more stable machine.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I think it's just a newer version of the 2020 M1 13-inch. Nothing different about 2022 that's being released next week, maybe just a newer software and a new M2 chip
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have no idea many reviewers on YT agree with you, it seems pointless. One other thing that is different is that M2 MacBook Pro has a fan. How much performance that will add over the M2 MacBook Air? No one knows, but considering that last gen the performance difference between the fan less M1 MacBook Air and the M1 MacBook Pro (which had a fan) wasn't much. I don't expect the performance difference between M2 Air and M2 Pro to be anything major either. (Please when the benchmarks actually come out someone correct me if I'm wrong).
