“Please tell me more re: refurbishing. Who performed the task? Is there a letter of authentication for purchase to ensure this item doesn't appear stollen? This seems like a very high price for a "used" laptop with the stated features. I'd pay $800.”

It's not Apple refurbished or Geek Squad refurbished but this have been professionally refurbished by the seller's certified technicians.
