No, you can't do any internal upgrades to current MacBooks. RAM and SSDs are soldered on the motherboard. I picked up a Sandisk Extreme portable SSD. 512GB is a good size for the main drive (where you have all OS and programs). The Sandisk is fast enough to keep any data edits on that drive if need be.

Please try again later.I do not think you could direct swap a drive into this one but a better option may be to use a drive station to transfer the data from your Mac drive into this one. It is hard to say without more information. If your old Mac drive is in a MacBook that runs, you can simple have both macs on the same WiFi and do a data transfer from the old to the new using an app resident on MacBooks.
