• If you have the MD101ll/a, I believe it is Mid-2012 from what I have read.

• The speed is faster than some older models, but the mechanical hard drive it uses will be a potential speed bottleneck when reading and writing data and compared to any of the other current Mac models with SSD based storage drives. It's storage advantage, though, is a larger capacity than a similarly priced SSD.
