If you’re into drawing/design or often take notes on your iPad, the pencil makes it much easier.However if you don’t see yourself using it for these reasons, then you’d be better off not buying it.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Unless you plan on using it for a drawing app I'd wait and see how you actually end up using your ipad. I don't use the pen for anything other than what I used my finger for before I got the pen. The handwriting stuff isn't very useful. If you don't like using the keyboard for some reason using the dictation functionality is quicker and easier than the handwriting functionality. Also, you'll always be worrying about losing the pen because it's so expensive.
