• Yes, works fine for me but may not have all the functionality and (obviously) no Siri connection.

• Yes, straight out of the box it was already communicating with my 4th gen Apple TV, no setup required! However, due to lack of more buttons, it does not have the volume control like the original Siri Remote and doesn't have the Siri voice commands, but in my case that is a PLUS!!! IMHO, the Siri remote is WAY TOO SENSITIVE on the touchpad and the fact that you cannot tell when its right side up due to its symmetry is a design flaw. The kids use the AppleTV a lot and they find this remote a welcomed change. If you want all the possible bells and whistles, I would recommend using the iPhone Remote App, that is probably the best interface.

• I am unsure whether or not it is compatible with Gen 4 Apple TV. If I had to guess probably not.
